ADJUSTMENT, PRECISION & ALLINGMENT WORKSHOP

Whether you are relatively new to yoga or have been practicing for a while this workshop is designed to give you a solid foundation and understanding around alignment in variety of standing, sitted and laying postures.
Creating correct alignment and bringing precision into the practice has a number of important benefits.
First of all, bringing attention to the correct alignment in asanas enables us to tune in our bodies on a very subtle level. Understanding the movement and action that is happening in postures gives us much greater control of our bodies.
Secondly, practicing with the Philosophy of precision enables us to build a strong foundation for development and ensure that our practice is completely safe. The idea behind this workshop is not to bring yourself into “perfect shapes” but rather about bringing mindfulness into your own practice to understand the way the body moves to achieve ease in movement.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING
Please bring your yoga mat if you have one. Otherwise, you can book your mat with me free of charge when making a booking for the class. Wear comfy clothing and don't forget to bring a bottle of water. Please try not to eat 2 hours before the workshop.

- Correct alignment and movement between asanas from Surya Namaskara (sun salutations) with a emphasis on chaturanga dandasana, upward facing dog and downward factoring dog.
- Getting into and positioning in variety of standing, sitted and laying postures.
- Use of props to attain correct alignment to achieve greater stability
- Importance of breathe and bandha in the practice
- Exploration of more challenging postures including back bends and inversions
