UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

ADJUSTMENT, PRECISION & ALINGMENT WORKSHOP
Saturday, 13th September 2025
6-8PM at Amethyst Cave, Southbourne

book your space

Whether you are relatively new to yoga or have been practicing for a while this workshop is designed to give you a solid foundation and understanding around alignment in variety of standing, sitted and laying postures. Creating correct alignment and bringing precision into the practice has a number of important benefits.

First of all, bringing attention to the correct alignment in asanas enables us to tune in our bodies on a very subtle level. Understanding the movement and action that is happening in postures gives us much greater control of our bodies.
Secondly, practicing with the philosophy of precision enables us to build a strong foundation for development and ensure that our practice is completely safe. The idea behind this workshop is not to bring yourself into “perfect shapes” but rather about bringing mindfulness into your own practice to understand the way the body moves to achieve ease in movement.
Picture
During the workshops, we will:
  • Take a closer look at correct alignment and movement between asanas from Surya Namaskara (sun salutations) with an emphasis on chaturanga dandasana, upward facing dog and downward facing dog
  • Break down variety of standing and sitted postures to understand correct positioning
  • Use of props to attain correct alignment to achieve greater stability
  • Look at ways of adjusting the asanas to create correct alignment or in order to go deeper
  • Importance of breathe in the practice
